Broadcast as part of the 1997 'Perspecta' exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales 'Between Art and Nature'.
'Crosscurrents' is a collaborative improvised performance piece with Mark Atkins on didgeridu and Dutch musician Michael Fahres on volcanic tubes, the sounds of lava blowholes on the Canary Islands activated by the surging sea.

Mark Atkins is a descendant of Western Australia’s Yamitji people, as well as of Irish/Australian heritage, and is known not only for his masterly playing, but also as a storyteller, composer, percussionist, visual artist and instrument maker.

The Listening Room was ABC Radio’s premier acoustic art program, broadcast each Monday on Classic FM at 9 pm from 1989 to 2003. The main presenter was Andrew McLennan.
Its producers worked with Australian and international composers, writers, performance artists, electronic media artists, environmental sound recordists and sound designers.
It won an array of national and international prizes.
